Wellapalooza 2015 Conference Schedule

This schedule is subject to change due to speaker’s travel schedules and time preferences.

Schedule of activities:

(Participation is not mandatory. If there are activities that you prefer to wish to participate in, you are welcome to sit out.)

9am-9:45am – Pre-Wella Yoga/Meditation (this session will be active)

Those who would like to come early and participate, are welcome.

10:00-10:30am – Welcome/Intros

Kendra /Jan Marie 

10:30-12pm – Speaker #1 (speaker and schedule are subject to change)

Dr. Emily Telfair – doctor of naturophathy, who practices in Baltimore, MD. Dr. Telfair has experience with chronic pain patients, as well as patients with mast cell activation disorders and EDS. Her special interest in calming systemic inflammation stemming from chronic conditions.

12:00 – 1:00pm – Lunch

1:00 – 1:30pm – Chair Pilates/Motivation to move for “Just 5 Minutes” a day (this session will be active)

Strength exercises you can do while sitting/Finding the motivation to move daily for “Just 5 Minutes”

(You do not have to participate if you do not feel comfortable.)

1:30 – 3:00pm – Speaker #2 (speaker and schedule are subject to change)

Dr. Theo – Dr. Theoharis C. Theoharides, BA, MS, MPhil, PhD, MD, FAAAAI (AKA – Dr. Theo) is one of the most well-respected physicians and researchers in field of mast cell activation disorders. Dr. Theo has published countless research publications and continues to devote his life to help find therapies that help patients who suffer from mast cell activation disorders. Dr. Theo is also prominent in the autism community and often serves as a guest lecturer. Dr. Theo is generous with his time, speaking at various events around the country and world. Additionally, Dr. Theo regularly holds webinars, podcasts and serves as a guest speaker on a variety of platforms, such as BlogTalkRadio.com.

3:00 – 3:30pm – Break/Mindfulness exercises/Gentle Yoga (this session will be active)

3:30 – 4:30 – Speaker #3 (speaker and schedule are subject to change)

Speaker TBD – Finding natural alternatives for living well with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.

(Focus will be on nutrition, natural movement and calming the autonomic nervous system – I.e. for those with Dysautonomia, POTS and/or Mast Cell Disorders, as well as EDS)

4:30 – 5pm – Meditative Coloring for adults/Other mindfulness activities

Coloring is an easy & affordable way to relax your mind, body & soul. Coloring also integrates the scientifically proven benefits of meditation flawlessly, and is an internationally practised therapy to help both adults and children.

– 5:00 – 5:30pm – Good-bye and clean-up

More Wellapalooza 2015 event details:

Date: Saturday, November 14th, 2015

Time: 10-5pm (an outline of the day’s schedule will be available on our website and will be filled in as we confirm additional details).

Place (address listed): One large conference room with a lot of light, windows and no on site kitchen. There is disability access and parking. Pictures will be uploaded to website.

Max number of attendees: 50 people. Conference room seats well over 100 people, but in order to move around comfortably, we are limiting the number of people. If we find that we can hold more people, we will open up registration spots and make an announcement.

Conditions of focus: Mast Cell Activation Disorders (MCAD), Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes (EDS) and how these conditions relate to each other, as well as to other chronic conditions.

Food: We will be providing snacks and drinks, but will not be providing lunch. Due to the multiple sensitivities that so many of us have, we chose to minimize the chance of reactions, which also allows us to keep the registration cost low. There is a Whole Foods right down the road and other food options near by. Additional details are included in the Wellaplaooza 2015 Update post.

Registration: $65 per person – Registration deadline is October 10th. You must be signed-up by October 10th. If you do not sign-up by October 10th, prices are subject to increase, or Wellapalooza 2015 may be cx. We need a minimum of 3o people and our max is 50 people. You can register HERE.

Additional details: We will be posting hotel information, as well as other fun details soon. If you are interested in staying for more than the day, please keep your eye out for announcements.

Refunds: Refunds will be made ONLY if canceled 7 days prior to event date. If cancellations are made within the 7 days prior to the event, NO refunds will be made. We recommend purchasing trip insurance, if necessary.
